Business e-visa: eligibility and requirements
⚠️ The Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai only receives visa applications from residents of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka, if you are a resident of other states in India, you should present your application through the Embassy of Brazil in New Delhi.
📌 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA – Business E-Visa
Indian citizens, holding an Indian passport, travelling to Brazil exclusively for business purposes may apply for an electronic business visa (business e-visa) only if they meet ALL of the following requirements:
(i) 🕒 their stay in Brazil will not exceed 90 days per trip; and
(ii) 💼 their travel purpose is strictly for BUSINESS activities, which are limited to:
a) participation in meetings, fairs, and business events;
b) prospecting commercial opportunities;
c) signing contracts;
d) conducting audits or consultancies;
e) acting as crew member of aircraft or vessel; and
f) the provision of technical assistance services or transfer of technology resulting from a contract, cooperation agreement, or arrangement concluded between a foreign legal entity and a Brazilian legal entity;
(iiii) 🆔 applicants are fully able to electronically sign PDF documents using the DigiLocker e-signature function with their Aadhaar credentials.
The business e-visa follows the same procedures as the in-person visa, but eliminates the need to visit the Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai in person. The entire process is completed online: applicants upload all required documents (DOCUMENT CHECKLIST for Business e-visa) directly to the online visa application form, and then submit the completed application to the Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai through the e-consular platform (e-VISA STEP-BY-STEP).
Once approved, at the discretion of the Consulate General of Brazil, the e-visa is issued in PDF format with a QR code and sent to the applicant’s registered email address.

PLEASE OBSERVE THAT:
Regarding the processing of this category of e-visa for business:
- The application will be analyzed and processed by the Consulate General on the scheduled date
i. ⚠️ Do not pay for tickets that demand urgent issuance of the visa, your visa will start to be analyzed and processed on the scheduled date set by the e-consular system;
- Please note that the business e-visa application is examined and approved by the Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai and does not imply automatic issuance;
- Once approved, the e-visa is issued in PDF format with a QR code and sent to the applicant’s registered email address.
⚠️ The Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai, upon review and approval, reserves the right to request additional documentation and/or an in-person interview.
⚠️ The final visa may be issued electronically or affixed physically to the passport, with the physical issuance being contingent upon a successful in-person interview.
⚠️ Documents that cannot be verified by the Consulate General of Brazil in Mumbai will not be accepted.
⚠️ The Business e-visa holder must not engage in remunerated work in Brazil (receive payment from a Brazilian source for working inside Brazil), for this, a work visa (VITEM V) is necessary. The request for VITEM V must be submitted, in Brazil, by the company seeking to hire.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
The Brazilian Agency responsible for immigration is the Police Department for Maritime, Air and Border issues. They are the ultimate authority that will give authorization for the visitor to enter Brazilian territory. Holding a visa DOES NOT GUARANTEE the right to enter Brazil. Compliance with the above-mentioned procedures, if followed adequately, should allow the visitor to enter the country without difficulty.
