CITIZENS OF CANADA, AUSTRALIA AND THE UNITED STATES
END OF TOURIST VISA EXEMPTION FOR CANADIAN CITIZENS
Citizens of Canada, Australia and the United States planning to travel to Brazil for tourism (stays up to 90 days) since 10 April 2025 are required an electronic entry visa (e-visa).
You can apply for the e-visa only through the electronic site https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/.
The total cost of the e-visa is US$ 80.90 (US dollars), payable only on the electronic site https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/.
Although the presentation of a flight ticket is not required to apply for an electronic visitor visa (e-visa), the consulate general does not recommend the purchase of flight tickets before the visa has been granted.
For entry into Brazil, foreign passports must be valid on the date of entry and remain valid throughout the stay until the date of final departure from Brazil (there is no need for additional validity, i.e. validity beyond the trip)

Residents of Canada with a "travel document" (not a passport) cannot apply for an electronic visa, but can apply for a VIVIS (see instructions on how to apply).
Brazilians with double nationality cannot be granted Brazilian visas. The consulate-general encourages all persons with Brazilian-Canadian double nationality to keep a valid Brazilian passport to enter Brazil.

If you travel to Brazil not with a passport, but with a Travel Document (Titre de Voyage), you will necessarily need a visa, regardless of your nationality.

If you need a visa, please note that some documentation must be previously uploaded to the e-consular platform https://ec-montreal.itamaraty.gov.br/ in order to be validated.
DO NOT MAIL OR DELIVER ANY DOCUMENT TO THE CONSULATE BEFORE YOUR APPLICATION IS VALIDATED IN E-CONSULAR.
Once your request is validated, you will receive a confirmation email.
DOCUMENTS SENT OR DELIVERED TO THE CONSULATE WITHOUT PRIOR VALIDATION IN E-CONSULAR PLATFORM WILL BE RETURNED, WHICH WILL DELAY THE VISA PROCESSING.
