What is PEC-PG?
The Brazilian Program for Exchange Students - Postgraduate Level - PEC-PG offers scholarships for foreign students to pursue strictu sensu postgraduate courses at Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
Over the past twenty years, the program has selected more than 3,000 students.
PEC-PG is a modality of the Brazilian Program for Exchange Students - PEC, an official program of the Brazilian government.
Benefits
The PEC-PG student has the right to:
- free place in a Brazilian Higher Education Institution, for a postgraduate course;
- monthly scholarship in the same amount as that offered to Brazilian students; and
- financial aid to return to the country of origin at the end of the participation in the Program.

Countries that have an educational, cultural, or scientific and technological cooperation agreement in force with Brazil can participate in the PEC.
Coordination
The PEC-PG is administered in partnership by:
- the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), through the Division of Educational Cooperation (DCE);
- the Ministry of Education (MEC), through the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes); and
- the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), through the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq).
