Republic of Seychelles
Seychelles and Brazil established diplomatic relations in 1986. Both countries do not have mutually resident embassies: the Embassy of Brazil in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) is cumulatively responsible for representing Brazil to the Republic of Seychelles, and the Embassy of Seychelles in Havana (Cuba) is cumulatively responsible for representing the Republic of Seychelles in Brazil.
In 2009, a Cooperation Agreement on Education was signed. In 2011, the two countries signed a partial visa waiver agreement. In 2014, the then Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Seychelles, Barry Faure, visited Brazil. In 2015, an Air Services Agreement was signed.
In multilateral forums, the two countries have converging views on the fight against poverty and inequality, a fairer international trade, and sustainable development.
Bilateral trade with Seychelles is strongly favorable to Brazil. In 2024, Brazilian exports totaled approximately $11.2 million, while imports reached US$ 200 thousand, totaling an exchange of $11.4 million (a drop of 13% compared to 2023). Brazil's main export products were poultry meat (49%), beef (23%) and pork (9.3%). Brazilian imports concentrated on thermionic valves and tubes (37%) and alcohols (18%).
