Principality of Liechtenstein

Brazil and Liechtenstein maintain cordial relations. Trade exchanges between the two countries, totaling nearly $22 million in 2019, should gain momentum with the Free Trade Agreement between MERCOSUR and EFTA (European Free Trade Association, comprised of Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Iceland and Norway), which should expand the access of Brazilian products and services to the markets of the association’s member countries. Political dialogue is held mainly through the Embassy of Brazil in Bern and the Embassy of Switzerland in Brasília, which represent the interests of Brazil and of the principality respectively.

The Consulate General of Brazil in Zurich is responsible for dealing with consular inquiries originating in the territory of Liechtenstein. The Consulate estimates that there are about 100 Brazilians currently living in the principality.

The Casa Brasil association (www.casabrasil-liechtenstein.com), founded in 2012 with the purpose of promoting and disseminating Brazilian art, offers a number of regular activities in the principality in addition to weekly Portuguese classes to children of different ages, which include Brazilian art, folklore, music and history contents.
