Minister of Foreign Affairs visits Suriname – Paramaribo, November 24-25, 2023
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mauro Vieira, will make an official visit to Paramaribo on November 24 and 25, 2023, to attend a meeting for political consultations and to participate in the commemoration of the 48th anniversary of Suriname's independence. During the visit, Chancellor Mauro Vieira is expected to be received by President Chandrikapersad Santokhi.
Brazil and Suriname share a broad agenda, which covers issues including energy, infrastructure, security, defense, trade, investments, consular affairs and technical cooperation. Brazil maintains one of its largest South-South technical cooperation programs with its neighboring country. During a meeting with Suriname’s foreign minister Albert Ramdin, Minister Mauro Vieira will also have the opportunity to address regional topics, such as Amazon cooperation and South American integration, as well as multilateral issues.
