The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, Santiago Cafiero, visits Brasilia – 8 October 2021
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of Argentina, Santiago Cafiero, will make a working visit to Brasilia on October 8, at the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Carlos Alberto Franco França.
The foreign ministers will address the main topics of the bilateral agenda and issues regarding the strengthening and modernization of MERCOSUR in the context of the Brazilian Pro Tempore Presidency of the bloc.
Brazil is the main trading partner of Argentina, while Argentina is Brazil’s third-largest trading partner. In 2020, bilateral trade reached $16.4 billion, with Brazilian exports of $8.5 billion and imports of Argentine products totaling nearly $7.9 billion. Trade flow has shown a significant expansion in 2021, with a 49% growth over the previous year.
The reciprocal stock of investments is significant ($28 billion) and covers a wide range of sectors in both countries, including manufactured products, services, mining and steel industry, energy, engineering and construction, agroindustry, infrastructure management, and technology.
