The Brazilian government was pleased to learn today of the news on the re-election by acclamation of Ambassdor Flávio Roberto Bonzanini to the position of Secretary General of the Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean (OPANAL), headquartered in Mexico City.
The re-election of Ambassador Bonzanini reflects the recognition by regional partners of the solid credentials of Brazil’s diplomacy and the country’s commitment to nuclear disarmament. OPANAL is a key actor in preserving Latin America and the Caribbean as a nuclear-weapons-free zone.
