PRESS RELEASE N. 156
Market Opening for Brazil in South Korea – Joint press release by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA)
The Brazilian government has concluded negotiations that will allow Brazil to export eggs and egg-derived products to South Korea.
This opening expands opportunities for the Brazilian poultry sector by enabling access for goods that will be used both for direct consumption and in the food industry. The Brazilian agribusiness exported $2.4 billion to South Korea in 2025, with highlights including soybean meal, poultry meat, coffee, soybeans, corn, tobacco, cotton, and leather.
During the recent presidential mission to the Republic of Korea in February 2026, the two countries signed memorandums of understanding focused on cooperation in agriculture, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, bioinputs, innovation, and rural development. The agenda strengthened sanitary dialogue between the countries and contributed to progress on matters of interest to the Brazilian agricultural sector.
With this announcement, Brazilian agribusiness has reached 602 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
This opening is the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
