Joint Communiqué on the Brazil-China Cultural Year

Joint Communiqué between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, and the Ministry of Tourism of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China on the Brazil–China Cultural Year
As agreed by Brazil and China in the Joint Statement on Joint Building the Brazil-China Community with a Shared Future for a More Just World and a More Sustainable Planet, both countries will celebrate 2026 as the “Brazil–China Cultural Year”.
Following the successful series of cultural events marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China in 2024, the Brazil–China Cultural Year 2026 aims to strengthen bilateral ties and promote cultural exchanges, highlighting their diversity and creativity.
The program of the Brazil–China Cultural Year 2026 will include a wide range of activities to be organized by both countries. These initiatives will encompass different artistic and cultural expressions, as well as activities in the fields of performing arts, visual arts, music, intangible cultural heritage, audiovisual production, cultural diversity, youth, training, tourism and innovation, with the aim of expanding mutual knowledge between Brazilians and Chinese.
