Hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan

The Brazilian government is following with concern the escalation of hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

While reaffirming its support for diplomatic efforts toward a negotiated solution to the crisis, the Brazilian government urges the parties to immediately cease hostilities, to respect international humanitarian law, and to resume dialogue with a view to establishing a lasting peace.
