The Brazilian government is monitoring the transition process in Haiti. As the Transitional Presidential Council's mandate expired on February 7 and a new interim government was formed, Brazil reaffirms its support for the stabilization of Haiti.
The Brazilian government remains committed to supporting Haiti in its efforts in the areas of public security, the restoration of democratic order —including holding elections—and the promotion of economic and social development. Brazil underscores that the stabilization of Haiti should be led by the Haitian people themselves.
