Brazil–United Kingdom Strategic Partnership 2026–2030
Brazil and the United Kingdom have decided to elevate their bilateral relations to a strategic partnership. To this end, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, and UK’s Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper signed today, March 26, the document “Brazil–United Kingdom Strategic Partnership 2026–2030.”
Brazil and the United Kingdom agree to intensify their cooperation in the following areas: political dialogue and international cooperation; trade and investment; security and defense; fair transition and sustainable development; and people-to-people connections.
In 2025, Brazil and the United Kingdom celebrated two hundred years of diplomatic relations. In that same year, bilateral trade reached $7.8 billion, with a Brazilian surplus of nearly $230 million.
The United Kingdom is one of the leading foreign investors in Brazil, with a stock of investment totaling $35.8 billion in 2024. The country is also an important destination for Brazilian direct investments, which amounted to $6.9 billion in the same year.
