The meeting of the Coro de Cor and the Military Club Choir on Sunday in the Garden
The voices of the Coro de Cor and the Clube Militar Choir joined forces for a performance on Sunday in the Garden, on May 18. The repertoire included songs from Brazilian popular music in original arrangements.
Created 20 years ago and made up only of women, the Coro de Cor has an unpretentious proposal to entertain and thrill with compositions from the national songbook. Formed two years ago, the Military Club Choir also has MPB as its main source of repertoire.
The musical groups will be accompanied on the piano by Ana Azevedo. With a master's degree in music, she currently performs with the Baixada Jazz Big Band, among many other groups of which she is a member, as well as being a conductor in four pop choirs in Rio de Janeiro. She also writes arrangements for the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. In 2010, she released her first solo CD, A Tempo. Ana Azevedo has also played with the Rio Jazz Orchestra, Robertinho Silva, Bibi Ferreira, Stanley Jordan, among others.
The performance will take place at 11am, in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay the entrance fee to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be transferred to the Galpão das Artes.
