Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden toasts visitors with action to celebrate Rio, the world capital of books
From April 23rd, Rio will become the world capital of books. The capital of Rio de Janeiro is the first Portuguese-speaking city to be awarded this title by Unesco. To celebrate this achievement and also World Book Day, the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden and Ecovilla Ri Happy are partnering up to promote reading!
On the 25th, 26th and 27th, visitors will be treated to books placed at key points in the arboretum and on trolleys in front of the EcoVilla Ri Happy theater and Casa Pacheco Leão. The books, used and in good condition, have been donated by JBRJ staff and employees and the public of the Ecovilla. They include national and foreign authors, such as Vinicius de Moraes and Elena Ferrante, as well as children's titles.
