Guitarist Ricardo Silveira and Cia. Papa Vento are the attractions of Domingo no Jardim on March 30
One of the exponents of Brazilian guitar, Ricardo Silveira will be performing at Domingo no Jardim on the 30th. Known for the sophistication of his compositions and musical performances, the guitarist will be accompanied by bassist Jefferson Lescowich. The repertoire includes songs by Ricardo Silveira, such as “Tango Carioca” and “Bom de tocar”, as well as classics from the Brazilian songbook and jazz standards.
Throughout his career, Ricardo Silveira has released more than 20 albums and has been nominated for Grammy Awards. He has recorded and performed alongside big names in Brazilian music, such as Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Elis Regina, Ivan Lins and João Bosco, and internationally with musicians such as Herbie Mann, Randy Brecker and Pat Metheny. Last year, he launched the songbook “Bom de tocar: a Música de Ricardo Silveira”, a book of scores with part of the guitarist and composer's work.
The presentation will take place at 11am, in front of the bust of Dom João, and is free of charge. Visitors only pay admission to the arboretum. In the event of rain, it will be transferred to the Galpão das Artes.
“Nemo and his friends” in the children's playground - Sunday is also a day of fun for kids in Rio's Botanical Garden. The Papa Vento puppet theater company is presenting the show “Nemo and his friends”. The story is an adventure with Nemo, Dory, Bruce, the shark, the turtle and other characters from the bottom of the sea. The show is recommended for children up to 4 years old. The performance is free and takes place at 10am in the playground. Visitors only pay for admission to the arboretum. Children up to 5 years old are free.
