Duo Finn Magill & Dami Andres combine Brazilian rhythms and jazz improvisation on Domingo no Jardim
Diverse repertoire of Brazilian and Latin American rhythms, with jazz improvisations
American violinist Andrew Finn Magill, one of the leading names in jazz, joins guitarist Dami Andres for a tour of Brazil this August. At Domingo no Jardim, the performance will take place on the 24th, featuring a diverse repertoire of Brazilian and Latin American rhythms, with jazz improvisations.
Known for his skill on the violin and his talent for improvisation and arranging, Finn Magill discovered the richness of Brazilian music, including choro and samba, as well as Latin American rhythms. Dami Andres, known for his mastery of the 8-string guitar, enchants audiences around the world with his unique interpretations of various musical genres, including bossa nova, samba, jazz, choro, tango, and more.
The two met in 2017, during Finn Magill's visit to Rio de Janeiro, giving rise to a musical partnership that shares a passion for composers such as Tom Jobim, Astor Piazzolla, Baden Powell, Raphael Rabello, Jacob do Bandolim, Chick Corea, the Afro Cuban All Stars group, and others.
The performance will take place at 11 a.m. in front of the bust of Dom João and is free of charge. Visitors only pay the entrance fee to the arboretum. In case of rain, it will be moved to the Galpão das Artes.
