Strategic Programs

The Scholarships in the Country Directory manages a set of strategic measures focused on the qualification of human resources and researches in areas located in the frontiers of knowledge or not yet fully developed in the Country, simultaneously encouraging strategies for the national development.

Part of these inducing measures keep as objectives:

To encourage and induce linkages between the Academy and the corporate sector – INNOVATION PROGRAMS,
The reduction of regional asymmetries – REGINAL DEVELOPMENT and
To attend to emergengy situations such as natural disasters and epidemic outbreaks - EMERGENCY PROGRAMS

QUALIFICATION OF HUMAN RESOURCES IN STRATEGIC AREAS

CAPES /COFEN Agreement To finance Nursing Professional Master programs with gradings equal or above 3 (three), connected to public or private higher learning institutions (IES) in order to qualify human resources in the Nursing area and the development of scientific and technological research, with special focus in the Nursing Assistances Systematization.

PROCAD Defense PROCAD-DEFENSE is an iniative created by a demand presented by the Ministry of Defense (MD) to the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES). It follows the Foundation´s guidelines for programs in strategic areas, considering the Country´s priorities in the technology and scientific areas and consists in the encouragement to qualification of human resources and the financing of research projects, as established by the corresponding Public Notice.

PROCAD - Academic Cooperation National Program The Academic Cooperation National Program (PROCAD) – aims at the qualification of top level human resources in the multiple areas of learning through joint research projects and the scientific exchange in the Country, involving higher learning and research institutions and creting improved conditions for the higher learning and post-graduation studies in Brazil.

PBE-DPM To encourage the development of medical researches, stimulating the qualification of researchers and the academic production in the doctorate modality through a specific funding, consolitading and widening strategic critical studies in the field and thus contributing to the scientific development in the Country.

Post-Graduation Development Programa (PDPG) HEREBY MAKES AVAILABLE ESTABLISHED BY THE PROCESS THE PUBLIC NOTICE POST-GRADUATION DEVELOPMENT FOLLOWING THE CURRENT LEGISLATION POST-GRADUATION OTHERNESS IN POST-GRADUATION

PDPG – Sea Resources The CAPES –Among Seas Programa aims at supporting stricto sensu post-graduation ptograms working in research lines related to the analyses of the impact of oil leaks, offering solutions to the damage by them in August 2019 in Brazilian beaches, specially in the Northeastern part of the Country.

Family and Public Policies in Brazil Program The programs supports research projects and the qualification of top level human resources in the scope of stricto sensu post-graduation programs, oriented towards the scientific investigation related to the family and public policies in the diverse topics selected in the current Public Notice.

PRO- DEFENSE Pro-Defense is a program fomented by the Brazilian government which aims at strengthening the cooperation ties among civilian and military institutions by supporting projects related to the teaching and production of scientific and technological researches and the qualification of human resources in the National Defense area.

PRO-EQUIPMENTS The program was launched to support proposals aimed at attending the necessities of equipments destined to the improvement of the scientific and technological structure of the Post-Graduation Programs in all areas of knowledge in the Public or Community higher learning institutions and the research instututes. Priority is given to investments in equipments of joint usage among the proponent institution and its partners.

PROCAD – Public Security and Forensic Sciences The present program aims at supporting educational and research projects connected to the qualification of human resources, the scientific research and technological development I the Public Security and Forensic Sciences areas. It uses resources and the infrastructure of the higher learning institutions (IES) and those provided by the Public Security organs.

Modeling of the Terrestrial System Development Program The Program aims at fomenting joint projects and the qualification of networks that contribute to the scentific, technological and innovative development of the Country, specially in the global and regional development of the Terrestrial System, allowing autonomy to Brazil in initiatives related to future climate changes, utilization of lands and urbanization. The Program thus contributes to the in an effective form to the qualification of human resources, the manufacturing of products and the implementation and evaluation of public policies launched aiming at the adaptation and mitigation of climate changes in the global environment.

Post-Graduation Development Program – Nutrition area – Professional Master Modality The present Program aims at supporting the professional post-graduation programs in the area of Nutrition throug the financing of research projects connected to the professional master programs in the area of Nutrition under the responsability of the Regional Council of Nutrition – Fourth Region – CRN-4 and selective process conducted by CAPES.

Post- Graduation Development Program (PDPG) – Affirmative and Diversity Policies The Program aims at the qualification of high level human resources and the academic-scientific research by financing projects related to affirmative policies and diversity, subsidizing the public Power in public policies aiming at the equality of rights and opportunities.

Strategic Partnerships

PROCAD - Academic Cooperation Action - Drug Policies PROCAD - Academic Cooperation Support Action - Drug Policies is an initiative of collaboration between CAPES and SENAD of MJSP, aiming to strengthen academic cooperation. It finances 10 projects to promote collaboration between Higher Education Institutions (IES), entities of SISNAD, research centers, and Public Health institutions. The main objective is to train human resources and promote the expansion of scientific production of excellence in strategic axes, including the prevention of problematic drug use, the study of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), knowledge management on drugs, drug policies and public safety, as well as the impacts of drug policies on vulnerable groups such as Black people, Indigenous people, women, and others.

Iniciation Scientific Program (PICME) The Scientific Initiation and Master's Program (PICME) is the result of a Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between CAPES and the INSTITUTE OF PURE AND APPLIED MATHEMATICS ASSOCIATION (IMPA), aiming for technical-scientific cooperation as a fundamental role in the Brazilian Public Schools Mathematics Olympiad (OBMEP) project.

Integrated Health Residency Program in Graduate Studies (ResidPG) he ResidPG aims to support the integrated training of highly qualified personnel, with the purpose of stimulating academic production and the development of researchers at the master's and doctoral levels.

Integrated Undergraduate Program in stricto sensu Graduate Studies (GradPG) The GradPG aims to support the integrated training of highly qualified personnel, with the purpose of stimulating academic production and the development of researchers at the master's and doctoral levels.

Procad - Public Security and Democracy The PROCAD Program – Public Security and Democracy is a joint initiative of CAPES and SENASP/MJSP aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between higher education institutions and agencies of the Unified Public Security System (SUSP). It promotes research and outreach networks focused on applied scientific production, human resource development, and the design of effective, evidence-based public policies, with an emphasis on promoting security, citizenship, and democracy.

REDUCTION OF ASYMMETRIES

PDPG Strategic Post-Doctorate The Postgraduate Development Program (PDPG) – Strategic Postdoctoral Fellowship aims to enhance the National Postgraduate System (SNPG) by consolidating the 'Emerging' and 'Consolidation' Postgraduate Programs (PPGs).

PROCAD AMAZON - National Academic Cooperation Program in the Amazon The present Public Notice – PROCAD /Amazon – is part of a complementary act aimed at the strangthening of post-graduation studies in the North Region and the state of Maranhao. It supports joint research projects able to provide cooperation networks and the use of human resources and available infrastructure in the multiple participating institutions partcipating in the program. The approach of new topics of research and possibilities of new ways in looking at the matters concerning the region are the main concerns of the program.

Post-Graduation Development Program (PDPG) in Legal Amazon PDPG in the Legal Amazon is part of Cape´s efforts to reduce asymmetries in the Post-Graduation National System, as established in the National Post-Gaduation Plan. It aims at the promotion of acts for the qualification of top level human resources, focusing in the reduction of regional asymmetries, the strengthening and increase in research and post-graduation studies in the Legal Amazon states.

Postgraduate Development Program (PDPG) – Equipment in the Legal Amazon Region The Postgraduate Development Program (PDPG) – Equipment in the Legal Amazon Region will provide funding for small and medium-sized shared-use equipment for public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Legal Amazon region.

Post-Graduation Development Program (PDPG) – Strategic Partnerships in the States

PDPG – Support to the Development in the Semiarid Region The PDPD Semiarid is a program aiming at the qualification of top level human resources and the foment of researches targeting at the social, economic and technological development of the Brazilian semiarid region.

Post-Graduation Development Program (PDPG) – Consolidation of stricto sensu Post-Graduation Programs The present program aims at the consolidation of stricto sensu academic PPGs with grades 3 and 4 in order to qualify top level human resources in the Master and Doctorate modalities and to provide costing resources to the PPGs participating in the Program.

Reduction of Asymmetries in the Post-Graduation Program (PRAPG) PRAPG aims at the improvement of the National Post-Graduation System(SNPG) reducing asymmetries in the post-graduation in order to contribute to the improvement of the National Post-Graduation System through the qualification of top level humen resources from the higher learning institutions (IES), the improvement of the academic-scientific in the PPGs which have obtained grade 3 (three) in the last 3 (three) evaluative cycles conducted by Capes (2013 – 2017 – 2021).

Network Research and Development Program for the Middlewest Region The program focuses on training human resources for sustainable research, development, and innovation in strategic axes of Bioeconomy, Biotechnology, and Biodiversity.

Higher Education Extension Program in Postgraduate Studies (PROEXT-PG) To contribute to the strengthening of extension activities within the scope of postgraduate studies, through integrated activities of teaching, research, and extension carried out in dialogue with various sectors of society. The aim is to support public managers in the development of socially relevant, interdisciplinary policies that contribute to sustainable development, citizenship, justice, the strengthening of democracy, social participation, quality of life, and the reduction of asymmetries in the National Postgraduate System (SNPG)).

Emergency Program for the Prevention and Combat of Disasters Related to Climate Changes, Catasthopes and Environmental Accidents

Emergency Postgraduate Development Program - Academic Solidarity In the context of the Emergency Academic Solidarity Program, we hereby announce the Public Notice for the Academic Solidarity Postgraduate Development Program (PDPG), aimed at supporting projects designed to provide support for refugee teachers and researchers interested in working within the National Postgraduate System as Visiting Professors in Brazil. The focus is on the training of high-level human resources and academic-scientific research in various fields of knowledge.

CAPES Among Seas Program CAPES Among Seas Program aims to support stricto sensu postgraduate programs that have research lines related to the purpose of combating, analyzing the impact, and proposing solutions for the oil spill identified in August 2019 on Brazilian beaches, especially in the Northeast region.
