Anac to Lead Brazilian Delegation at the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Canada
The Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) will preside over the Brazilian delegation at the 42nd Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), to be held in Montréal, Canada, from September 23rd to October 3rd. The delegation will also include representatives from other Brazilian institutions, such as the Air Force, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Secretariat of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Ports and Airports, and the Federal Police.
Over the course of two weeks, the agenda will focus on the global development of aviation. The program will begin with the ICAO Innovation Fair, taking place on September 21st and 22nd. In addition to national exhibitors, Brazil will participate through presentations by Anac superintendents and its Director-President, Tiago Chagas Faierstein.
The Brazilian delegation will present 41 working papers, 12 of which will be submitted by Anac, covering topics such as safety, innovation, and electric vertical take-off and landing aircrafts (eVTOLs). Representatives will also participate in bilateral meetings with foreign authorities. An Air Services Agreement is expected to be signed with Saudi Arabia, establishing open skies between the two countries.
On September 27th, Anac delegates will hold the Brazilian Day at the ICAO headquarters. The event aims to promote Brazilian aviation to visiting countries and international authorities, strengthening the global aviation sector.
Brazil will also seek re-election as a member of the ICAO Council. The country has held a seat continuously since the Council’s inception and is currently part of Group I, which includes the 11 most prominent aviation powers in the world.
An industry exhibition will be held in parallel with the Assembly. Approximately 20% of participants will be Brazilian, including a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producer and, for the first time, all companies from the Embraer group.
“In addition to our nationally and internationally recognized work, once again ANAC has the honor of leading the Brazilian delegation at the ICAO Assembly. This demonstrates that the Agency, beyond contributing to the development of Brazilian aviation, is also establishing itself as one of the global leaders in the sector,” said the Agency’s Director-President, Tiago Chagas Faierstein.
The Assembly can be followed live on the ICAO website, upon registration.
