Brazil and United Arab Emirates sign Memorandum of Understanding and Working Arrangement on Airworthiness
During the 42nd ICAO Assembly, the civil aviation authorities (CAAs) from Brazil (Anac) and United Arab Emirates (GCAA) signed two cooperation agreements. The signatures took place during a bilateral meeting held on September 29th, 2025.
Mr. Tiago Chagas Faierstein, Anac President-Director, and Mr. He Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, GCAA Director General, signed a memorandum of understanding between their respective CAAs. The document sets the base for technical cooperation activities in several areas, such as initial and continued airworthiness, aircraft maintenance, airmen approval, and flight simulators.
In the same meeting, Mr. Roberto José Silveira Honorato, Head of the Anac Airworthiness Department, and Mr. Aqeel Ahmed Abdelaziz Al Zarooni, GCAA Assistant Director General Aviation Safety Affairs Sector & Senior Director Policies, signed a working arrangement for initial and continued airworthiness. The working arrangement establishes procedures to facilitate the recognition and approval of Brazilian aeronautical products by the GCAA, support on continued airworthiness activities, import/export procedures, and other aspects of cooperation between the CAAs.
